The CEOE 150–151 exams are computer-based (CBT) and online proctored tests. What Content is Covered on Each Assessment?

The CEOC 150: Elementary Education Subtest 1 focuses on Reading/Language Arts and is divided into three subareas, each contributing a different percentage to the overall test. The CEOE 151: Elementary Education Subtest 2 covers a broad range of topics, including Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, Health/Fitness, and the Arts. Each subsequent module delivers the necessary information in multiple formats, including graphics, videos, and opportunities for engagement through quizzes that assess understanding. Each course also provides opportunities for reflection on your learning throughout the course.

Finally, you’ll take a practice assessment structured like the real test so that you can be prepared for exam day.

Test-Day Mindset: Mental Strategies for the CEOE Elementary and Early Childhood Education Exams

While content knowledge and practice are essential for success, your mindset on test day can truly be a game-changer. The CEOE 150: Elementary Education Subtest 1, CEOE 151: Elementary Education Subtest 2, and CEOE 205: Early Childhood Education exams are high-stakes, and it’s completely normal to feel some nerves. However, how you manage those nerves can make a significant difference in your performance. Here are a few strategies to help you stay calm, confident, and in control on exam day:

1. Picture Your Success

Take a few moments each day to mentally rehearse your exam experience—visualize yourself confidently answering questions, pacing yourself efficiently, and feeling calm under pressure. This mental preparation helps build a positive mindset and reinforces your readiness.

2. Establish a Relaxing Pre-Test Routine

Avoid cramming the night before. Instead, spend your time engaging in low-pressure activities that relax your mind, like a walk, reading, or stretching. Be sure to nourish your body with a healthy meal, hydrate, and get adequate rest. A solid night’s sleep will help you stay sharp and focused during the test.

3. Use Simple Calming Techniques

Before entering the exam or during breaks, practice grounding techniques such as deep breathing. Inhale slowly for 4 counts, hold for 4 counts, and exhale for 4 counts to relax your nervous system. This exercise can help you clear your mind and remain composed, making it easier to focus when you resume the test.

4. Get Ready Early and Arrive Ahead of Time

To reduce stress, prepare everything you’ll need the day before—your ID, test confirmation, and directions to the exam center. Arriving 30 minutes early will give you time to acclimate to the environment, calm your nerves, and set your mindset for a successful test-taking experience.

5. Turn Test-Day Anxiety into Positive Energy

It’s normal to feel anxious, but instead of seeing it as a negative, use it to your advantage. Those butterflies in your stomach can be a sign of motivation. Reframe your nerves as a boost of energy that sharpens your focus and helps you stay alert throughout the test.
