NYSTCE Multi-Subject Tests
The NYSTCE Multi-Subject exams each consist of three different exams. The first exam is English Language Arts & Literacy. The second exam covers Mathematics. These tests are available by grade band such as Birth-Grade 2, Grades 1-6, Grades 5-9, and Grades 7-12.
Every Multi-Subject test also requires exam number 245, which is Arts and Sciences. This exam is the same for all grade levels.

NYSTCE Educating All Students (201)
New York requires all teacher candidates to take the Educating All Students (201) exam, regardless of subject area or grade level This exam tests your pedagogical and professional knowledge and skills. The exam covers topics such as Diverse Student Populations, English Language Learners, Students with Disabilities, and Teacher Responsibilities.
NYSTCE Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills (095)
In New York, all paraprofessionals must pass a teaching assistant exam. The Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills covers basic skills in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. It also covers Instructional Support, so candidates understand how skills are taught in a classroom setting.
NYSTCE Students with Disabilities (060)
The Students with Disabilities exam is a test aspiring special education teachers in New York must take. It covers content such as Foundations of Special Education, Assessment and Individual Program Planning, Strategies for Planning and Managing the Learning Environment and for Providing Behavioral Interventions, and more.
