The Praxis® Social Studies Content & Interpretation (5086) assessment requires demonstration of knowledge of a breadth of content including:

  • United States and World History
  • Government, Civics, and Political Science
  • Economics
  • Geography
  • Behavioral Sciences

Examinees must write short essays and answer multiple-choice questions. Our course prepares candidates in all of those areas, providing multiple opportunities to practice both assessment types!

More Than a Study Guide

Unlike other study guides or tutorials available to prepare for teacher certification tests, Passage PreparationTM courses are aligned to the content categories and fundamental concepts covered on Praxis® Social Studies Content & Interpretation test. In addition, both diagnostic and practice tests with hundreds of sample multiple-choice questions provide feedback in real time.

Who Takes the Praxis® Social Studies Content & Interpretation (5086) Test?

Teachers seeking a professional license to work in the public schools of Alaska, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Vermont must take this certification test.

How Does Passage Preparation Align to the Praxis® Test?

Passage Preparation partners with teachers and teacher educators to develop courses for aspiring teachers. We begin each course with a diagnostic assessment. Using the results from the diagnostic assessment, students work through modules expertly aligned to the content categories and fundamental concepts covered on the Praxis® Social Studies Content & Interpretation. Finally, hundreds of sample questions, each aligned to a fundamental concept, are presented on practice assessments. Both diagnostic and practice assessments provide feedback in real time. You can see the Course Sequence below.
