Covering the four key domains of the exam—Foundations of Reading Development, Development of Reading Comprehension, Reading Assessment and Instruction, and Integration of Knowledge and Understanding—participants will deepen their understanding of phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, assessment, and instructional strategies.
Covering the four key domains of the exam—Oral Language and Communication, Phonological and Print Awareness, Phonics and Word Recognition, Reading Fluency and Comprehension, and Reading Development and Assessment—participants will develop expertise in foundational literacy skills, evidence-based reading instruction, and assessment practices. The course provides expert-led discussions, targeted content review, and practice assessments with feedback to ensure readiness for the exam and effective literacy instruction aligned with Texas standards. This course may be counted for 35 continuing professional education hours with the Texas Education Agency.
Through interactive live sessions, practice exercises, and expert-led discussions, participants will deepen their understanding of literacy development, mathematics instruction, science concepts, social studies pedagogy, and child development. The course emphasizes evidence-based teaching practices, student-centered learning approaches, and assessment techniques to support diverse learners.
