Passage Preparation™ Partners with West Virginia

Passage Preparation™ is proud to partner with the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) to support candidates in its Grow Your Own Paraprofessional Academy. This innovative partnership will provide support for 200 of West Virginia’s Paraprofessionals as they prepare for the Praxis®, the licensure exams required for professional certification.

Recognition by State Board of Education

Passage Preparation was recognized in a ceremony in Charleston, WV, on March 28, 2023. Present for the recognition was Dr. David Roach, the State Superintendent of Schools, and West Virginia Board of Education President, Paul Hardesty, and Member, Debra Sullivan. 

Nathan Estel, Managing Director of Passage Preparation, accepted the recognition on behalf of the organization.  

A native West Virginian, Mr. Estel worked to advance policies to recruit, prepare, and license educators in the state early in his career. “Being able to give back to my home state is a true honor and something I hope will benefit West Virginia students and families for years to come,” said Estel.

“This is the most meaningful work I have been engaged in over my 35 years in education. Grow Your Own Pathways strengthen the teacher pipeline while creating the means and opportunity for our people to pursue a career in education at no cost and get paid to do so through registered apprenticeship programs. We are grateful for support from Passage Preparation in providing test preparation materials and resources to ensure our candidates succeed,” said Dr. Carla Warren, NBCT, Director of Development and Support at the WVDE. 

Passage Preparation Delivers Innovative Support for Teachers

Passage Preparation delivers courses designed to support aspiring teachers as they prepare for teacher licensure tests like the Praxis®. Passage Preparation courses are developed by teachers for teachers and are aligned to the standards the profession demands. The teaching profession deserves a high standard for entry and we strive to provide support necessary for individuals to meet it. This certainly extends to those who will benefit from the West Virginia Grow Your Own Paraprofessional Academy. 

Support Available for all of West Virginia’s Aspiring Teachers

Passage Preparation offers courses in alignment with Praxis® assessments required by the West Virginia Board of Education. Anyone required to complete a test for professional certification in West Virginia can feel prepared on test day if they complete a Passage Preparation course.
